Tilly’s Life Center: 5th I Am Giving Gala
On November 2nd, Tilly’s Life Center (with jewelry contributions) by Vasco Assets held their 5th annual, “I Am Giving Gala” to support the TLC, “I AM Me” initiative. “I Am Me”, teaches teens important life skills, compassion, and how to pursue their dreams. The gala was a night to remember that took place at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, CA.
Each guest was dressed in their finest attire and the tables were adorned with beautiful centerpieces. In addition to the awe-inspiring atmosphere, attendees dined on tasty appetizers throughout the evening and a delicious three-course meal was served.
As the evening progressed, guest speakers gave moving speeches about the Tilly’s Life Center mission and the importance of contributing to such a necessary initiative.
With the formation of the Tilly’s Life Center, the Tilly’s organization shows that they are more than just a well known fashion chain. They’ve gone above and beyond by recognizing the issues faced by teens and has responded to those issues by implementing self-esteem and conflict resolution programs. Those programs also touch on topics such as forgiving and giving, body-image, and motivation and purpose.

In addition to Vasco Assets, venders from all over Orange County attended the “I Am Giving Gala” and donated items to the beneficial auction that was held. The auction bids started at $10,000 each. Guests bid on a range of items from culinary packages and artwork to fine gold jewelry and other luxury assets.
Studies show that the second leading cause of death among individuals between the ages of 15 to 24 is suicide. These statistics serve as proof that life for teens is far from easy. Between peer pressure, negative self-image, and a new form of bullying that exists through social media, teens are struggling more than ever before.
Programs like TLC’s, “I Am Me” helps teens learn that there is hope, that there is a rainbow at the end of their storm clouds. It’s initiatives like this that change lives worldwide.
